If you have a hard time keeping your hair in place, try flipping the bobby pin over. The straight side is slicker and won't grip as well as the wavy side. Using a larger bobby pin or hairpin likeaim the open end of the pin against the direction your hair is pulled. Rotate the pin so the open end faces the same direction as your hair, and push the pin in toward your head to secure it. If inserted correctly, the pin will pull your hair tighter and be unnoticeable. Repeat these steps until your style is completely secure. Tease the crown of your head with a teasing comb, then grab a section of hair between your hairline and the crown of your head, and secure it with bobby pins. Then, grab a tiny section of hair from the front right side of your head, wrap it behind your head, and secure it with a bobby pin. Repeat on the left side, and continue these steps until you've pulled back three to four sections on each side, alternating the placement of the pins every time. Voila! An easy half-up updo. Not only will this trick work IRL, but in pictures your hair will appear super-thick. You can also use this hack along your hairline if you wear it in a ponytail a lot or simply don't like to part your hair to get the same results.
